I honestly don't care or give a fuck what anyone has, Im focusing on my own thing, maybe because I have a path, a direction of who I want to be, or how I want things to work out and this has put me in a place where everything just looks easy. MAYBE!
I just feel that like me everyone should focus on their thing, on their own happiness and stop looking at how successful their friends or another member of their family is. Like be happy for them but don't give a fuck!
If my friend bought a new car, I will call him and say congrats and wish him well, after the call I go right back to what I was doing because I'm focused, I know who I want to be, and how I plan to do it.
You need to be you, Do you period!
This blog post is very important to 20 to 28 years old millennials that are just starting up and got caught up in the noise of complaining, everyone is complaining about the government, about lack of opportunities and if you look at the other side of the complainants, there are the 1% who are using the noise to their advancement, to their advantage. They know that the market is the market and that they cant help it than to look for how to navigate the terrain by learning, reading, working their ass off even if it involves working for free.
If you are just fresh out of school, we all know that the chance of you getting a job is low unless your dad is Aliko Dangote or Bukola Saraki. What then are your options?
To get the type of job you wanted, you are going to need 2 or 3 years experience, but how can companies be asking for 3 years experience you may ask? you can't blame them, its a business and there is a standard requirement in any business. They don't care about you, they care about their business and it's completely fair, you would do the same if in their shoe. so what do you need to do to become employable?
There are two things you should know to get experience:
You need to be ready to work hard and sometimes for free! at bet9ja I worked free for the first 3 months just to be part of the founding team, that's how I became bet9ja's first employee and a very successful employee. Be willing to work your ass off and for free when needed and have patience. You have one life. What are you gonna do about it? The reason I preach patience is because we all need more at-bats. Everyone fails, everyone loses, everyone sucks at something. The problem is, you can either ponder and look for permission, or you can execute and do your thing. Nothing beats DOING .. ever.
Embrace the internet: Create a blog post about your interest, create a facebook page, groups, and Instagram account, join LinkedIn, talk about your industry or your passion, create and post content 5 to 10 times in a day on all these platforms and respect each platform differently. Don't post the same shit on all the platforms. and please don't care about how many followers you get. when I created my lottery page on Facebook in 2009, it took two years to get something significant out of it, I was very patient and passionate about it and eventually it paid off, I made a lot of money selling ebooks and services.
It is getting to the time where an interviewer will ask the candidate looking for a job of how many followers they have got on social media or ask for their handle to check what they have posted. This is the single best era in human history, where you can literarily chat anybody up on social media, like you can mention the twitter handle of the vice president of Nigeria on twitter and he is gonna answer you, you can DM a lot of CEOs on Instagram and if you are lucky you get a reply from 2 to 3, maybe an interview from there.
A lot of you are not just patient enough.
To me, life is pretty simple. There’s things you can control and others you can’t. Everything boils down to your actions and your mindset but there’s just far too many of you continuously caught up that just don’t see it that way.
This is my attempt to clear things up once and for all.
PEOPLE’S OPINIONS:
Just don’t matter.
Go out there and do shit! I wish you all the best!
